University of Florida Community Campaign
A Message from the 2009 UFCC Leadership Chair
R. Kirby Barrick, Dean, UF/IFAS College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
The University of Florida Community Campaign – it really does make a difference.
Our campain theme for 2009 is "Gator Champions Giving for a Greater
Cause." Now, UF employees can support any of 78 charitable agencies with
just the click of a button! No more pledge cards!
Last year, UF, UAA, and UFF employees donated $1,058,730.00 to support of the UF Community Campaign.
This year, we have the chance once again to show the Gainesville community that the UF community cares. Our 2009 campaign goal is $1,111,111.11. Your contribution is an opportunity to improve the health and welfare of thousands of our neighbors.
As economic pressures mount in these troubling times, many charitable organizations also find their budgets stretched thin as donation levels drop. The funds we raise will give much-needed support to the participating agencies, allowing them to continue providing relief, assistance, and the types of activities that make Gainesville and Alachua County such a special place.
Although we are all facing challenges at this time, please take a moment to reflect on the fates of those who have even less. Join me in making a gift to the UF Community Campaign. Whether you give a little or give a lot, every dollar truly does count. Together, we can make a huge difference for those in need.
You will receive a postcard in August regarding the campaign and emails beginning
on August 31st with links to the online giving site. Join with me in making a
difference!
Sincerely,
Dean R. Kirby Barrick, Chair
