University of Florida Community Campaign
A Message from the University of Florida President
Bernie Machen
Every year, University of Florida employees demonstrate their commitment to our community by participating in the UF Community Campaign (UFCC). The campaign has raised more than $11 million for charitable organizations since its beginning in 1993.
Seventy-four local agencies will benefit from the funds raised through the 2008 UFCC. These agencies make an impact on many local needs - affecting the lives of children, the disabled, and those with serious illnesses. The UFCC agencies protect the environment, shelter animals, and assist the elderly. Donors to our campaign can give to all agencies with one contribution to the campaign or can designate specific agencies for donations.
This year’s campaign theme is “Gators Give Online.” In keeping with our goal of sustainability, we are moving to an online campaign that will greatly reduce printing, paper, and mailing costs. In addition, the online program will give us up-to-date results on our donation totals.
Please join me in a commitment to helping the agencies that help our community. Our goal for the 2008 campaign is $1,300,000.00. Together we can meet the goal and fulfill our commitment to a better life for all in our region.
Sincerely,
Bernie Machen
University of Florida President
